Hi Everybody,
Dracula entered tech yesterday for our first of two consecutive noon
to midnight extravaganzas. It’s great to be back in the circular maze that is
the Bingham Theatre. Let’s just say Dracula is a bit heavy on the
tech side. Here’s an example: the first five minutes of the show took
about four hours to tech. Fog, video projection, lights, sound, and six traps
rising and falling from the stage floor present quite a challenge technically.
The fog had to be measured, as well, to make sure it was at a safe
level for everyone involved. Despite the long hours, tech is always a great
time to appreciate how intensely collaborative an art form theatre really is.
